Description
The ViPrimePLUS Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever Virus RT-qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever Virus genomes in clinical samples (e.g. blood, plasma and serum).
Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever virus (CCHFV) is a tick-borne virus with a single-stranded RNA. Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever is endemic in Africa, the Middle East and Asian countries which climate is suitable to breed the tick vectors. CCHFV infects a wide range of hosts including live stocks and humans, but most birds are resistant to the infection except ostriches. The virus spreads via infected tick bites and remains in the animals’ bloodstream for about a week. Symptoms of the fever include flu, vomiting, showing signs of hemorrhage, black stools and nosebleeds, which normally resolves after 10 days. Fatality rate of the infections can reach up to 30% if the illness persists over to the second week.
ViPrimePLUS Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever Virus RT-qPCR Kit is intended for research use only.
